Echo Knoll Farm is nestled in the river hills along the Susquehanna River in south central PA.

We are dedicated to perpetuate sound equine athletes with suitable temperament and trainability to excel in their sport, thereby improving the breed for generations to come.

We have been racing thoroughbreds since 1968.  I competed as a jockey from 1972-1982. Our breeding program analyses both genotype and phenotype from multiple perspectives and selects those individuals that can optimally combine to produce graded stakes winners and at least combine to produce a solid competitor. Correct conformation and good attitude allow these horses to continue in other equine sports long past their racing carrier.

The American Sport Pony division came about as I entered my 5th decade and could no longer sit comfortably upon a 17 h frisky 2 yo. I realized the need for smaller suitable mounts for amateur, junior and baby boomer age riders who want to compete at higher levels, but don't want to manage the 17 h powerhouse classic warmblood. These horses offer the athletic movement and presentation of the traditional warmblood without the size, management issues and risk to the rider. They are most suitable for dressage, eventing, pony club, and fox hunting, but certainly not limited to these diciplines.

Proper mare care and attention to detail throughout the gestation provides the best start for strong healthy foals.

Once safely on the ground, we raise the foal with correct handling, good nutrition, exercise and dicipline, thereby instilling the confidence, strength and stamina required to excel. Our emphasis is classical training.
